Roselyn Victoria Nicholas diploma, 1922 June 1 (Columbia, S.C.)

Diploma awarded to Roselyn Victoria Nicholas in 1922, certifying her to teach public school; signed by the president and five faculty members, and the president and secretary of the University Trustees. The U.S. Census of 1920 lists Miss R.V. Nicholas as a resident of Union, S.C., at home with her large family; she was the daughter of W.W. Nicholas, an insurance agent, and Nell Nicholas; in the 1930 Census, Nicholas appears as a public school teacher in Gaffney, S.C.
